The Novodevichy Convent one of the significant architectural and historical monuments in Moscow was founded by Vasiliy III in 1524.
During all 4 centuries was in the center of all main historical events. It was special monastery, in which among its novices were the members of tsar's family, who didn't satisfy the rulers. Ancient stone building of the monastery- Smolensk Cathedral.
You will see frescoes of XVI century, golden altar-screen, and architectural ensemble, made by Russian architector.
